Irish Homework

Posted in Genealogy, Business by CMJ Office on the October 6th, 2008

As a Genea-Blogger, I’ve taken on the challenge of doing some specific homework for the Irish Heritage and Culture Carnival.

I am going to try and update what I have researched on a weekly basis.

Donahue Research Homework

4 matches for the search criteria: Donahue, John 1858-1874 Co. Mayo Marriages

John Donahue is my paternal great great grandfather. I’ve uncovered 5 possible marriage records for him in Co. Mayo (1858-1874). I do not want to investigate further until I have a birth certificate for my great grandmother, Margaret Donahue (b. 1870-1879). I’m hoping that I can still locate this record and discover her mother’s name also.

2 matches for the search criteria: Donahue, Margaret 1866-1879 Co. Mayo Birth Records

So, I’ve searched the birth records and found a Margaret Mary born in 1867. However, this would make her quite elderly having my grandmother in 1914. I’m still searching and missing for this record.

Finegan Research Homework

County Monaghan records are still MIA for my Finegan homework. I’m going to search for some new avenues.
