Peace by Yeats

PEACE

W. B. Yeats (1865-1939)

Ah, that Time could touch a form

That could show what Homer’s age

Bred to be a hero’s wage.

‘Were not all her life but storm,

Would not painters paint a form

Of such noble lines,’ I said,

‘Such a delicate high head,

All that sternness amid charm,

All that sweetness amid strength?’

Ah, but peace that comes at length,

Came when Time had touched her form.

Lesson Learned from “Pretty Women”

Posted in Virtual Assistant, Business at 2:52 pm by CMJ Office

Remember when Julia Roberts walked into the posh clothing store? The rude salesclerks were the ones that made Julia feel like she couldn’t shop in their store. They turned her business away on appearance alone. She later came back to let them know, “Big mistake!”

Big mistake is right.

Never turn possible business away with rudeness. It can ruin you. Politeness and respect for customers, clients and potential clients is a must.

I recently had to drive into Richmond, VA for a doctor appointment. I am not from the area. I was informed that I had to travel further into downtown Richmond for a test. Everyone within this office stepped up for me. This office went above and beyond the call of duty. They made sure that I had the test confirmed and knew where I was going.

Once at the testing facility, I was greeted by a staff member that was aware of my situation. Once again, I was treated superbly.

The lesson to be learned in all of this is to try to always go above and beyond with your customer service. You will leave an impression and you never know when you will reap the benefits from your kindness.

Karma.

Lottery Emails – I Must Be Rich

Posted in Chat, General, Business at 9:41 pm by CMJ Office

Why?

Yes, I am asking the question. I have winning lottery emails on a daily basis. At this rate, I can just sit at home and do ‘zip’.

What is going on?

It’s worldwide now. I’ve got winnings coming in from every direction. I thought it was funny when I’d get them once a month.

When you get daily multiple emails, it tends to get annoying.

I wish that I could flood the inboxes of everyone that sends me one of these notifications. Then again, these people could be victims of email theft.

I have been the victim of this lately. I’m still amazed that some people in this world could be that unethical.

Does this annoy anyone else? LOL

Strikethrough Feature For Proofreading Ease

Posted in Business at 6:12 pm by CMJ Office

Word 2007 has some features that are not abundantly used. I’m going to be highlighting them in brief blog postings for clients or those in need.

If you are proofreading for yourself or a client, one of the best resources available within word is “strikethrough”. It’s located under “Font” and can be seen as the abc icon.

While reviewing documents in Word, you can highlight sentences, words, or letters and simply click on the strikethrough icon. It’s just like taking your red pencil to paper and crossing out the selected information.

For Word 2003 users, follow this link.
